SATYAGRAHA

2016 Tilde Björfors was invited to stage Philip Glass Satyagraha at Folkoperan in Stockholm.  It become one of Folkoperan´s most performed productions ever. The performance visited Gothenburg Dance and Theatre Festival and Copenhagen International Opera Festival before the finale was given at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in New York, with the composer himself Philip Glass in the audience. It was the beginning of an artistic friendship and inspired Glass to compose Circus Days & Nights, an opera in three acts, for which Björfors collaborated on libretto and production.
As part of the celebration of Philip Glass 90th birthday 2027 Tilde Björfors has been invited to stage Satyagraha, once again together with musical director Mathew Wood. This time in South America.
